As part of their work with Pearson on developing the new BTECs, Surrigo played a central role in the development of free support materials to provide additional material for teachers. These delivery guides, schemes of work and delivery plans were essential to ensuring the success of the new qualifications and so it was vital that they were delivered on time and to the required quality. With 400 deliverables in 2018, this was a high-volume and high-pressure project with significant interdependencies to the delivery of the DfE submissions.
Surrigo provided a range of services in order to deliver the resources. A dedicated project manager ensured that the schedule and risks and issues were managed, with weekly reporting to key stakeholders, while an editorial manager looked after the editorial tasks and quality control. Our ability to scale-up resources was particularly important when the original supplier of copy editing needed to be replaced and Surrigo stepped in, as well as providing additional resources at peak periods. Through highly collaborative working, both with Pearson and with third-party suppliers, Surrigo were able to deliver all required content within a tight timeframe.
